"These are the Feasts of the LORD, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons...EVEN DEEZ ARE MY FEASTS" Leviticus 23

Da Celestial Time Clock: Genesis 1:14–18 Leviticus 23 und Da Language of Da Heavens:
In Genesis 1:14–18, God establishes the cosmic order with a specific mandate:
"Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and LET THEM BE FOR SIGNS, AND FOUR SEASONS, and for days, and years... The greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also."
The foundational Hebrew vocabulary in this passage unlocks the divine architecture:
- Signs (Otot, אוֹתֹת): A signal, mark, proof, or banner. In biblical thought, an ot is an indicator communicating a deliberate message or covenant (such as the rainbow in Genesis 9 or the Sabbath in Exodus 31:13).
- Seasons (Mo'edim, מוֹעֲדִים): Often misunderstood in modern English as meteorological seasons (spring, summer, fall, winter). Biblically, mo'ed means an appointed time, a fixed festival, or an assembly place. Psalm 104:19 confirms this astronomical link: "He appointed the moon for seasons (mo'edim); the sun knoweth his going down."
- Days and Years (Yamim v'Shanim): Direct solar and lunar cycles governing reckoning and agriculture.
The sun and moon were installed not merely as functional lamps, but as an synchronized celestial timepiece designed to summon humanity to divine appointments.
The 1:1 Apparent Ratio and the Solar Eclipse: A Divine Monogram
The sun is roughly 400 times larger in diameter than the moon, yet the sun is also roughly 400 times further away from the Earth.
When the moon passes precisely between the Earth and the sun, it produces a Total Solar Eclipse. The lunar disc covers the sun's blinding photosphere while revealing the ethereal, pearlescent solar corona and the "diamond ring" effect.
- The Witness of Sovereignty: This alignment occurs uniquely from the viewpoint of Earth—the habitat of mankind. In Messianic and Hebraic cosmology, this is viewed as an unmistakable signature of intentional design.
- A Visual Signet Ring: By blotting out the "greater light" through the agency of the "lesser light," the Creator demonstrates sovereign ownership of both luminaries. A total eclipse operates as a global ot (sign), reminding inhabitants across diverse geographic paths that the universe operates by deliberate ordination rather than cosmic happenstance.

Leviticus 23: The Master Calendar of Redemption begins with a vital distinction:
"The LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the Feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, EVEN DEEZ ARE MY FEASTS." (Lev. 23:1–2)
The text does not call them "the feasts of the Jews" or "man-made holidays." They are explicitly named Mo'edim YHWH—the Appointed Times of the LORD—and designated as Mikra'ei Kodesh (Holy Convocations, literally "rehearsals" or dress rehearsals for prophetic events).
| Feast | Hebrew Name | Timing | Historical Rehearsal | Messianic Fulfillment |
| Passover | Pesach | 14th of Nisan (Abib) | Blood on doorposts; redemption from Egyptian bondage | Yeshua our Passover Lamb slain at the precise hour (1 Cor. 5:7) |
| Unleavened Bread | Chag HaMatzot | 15th–21st of Nisan | Eating bread without leaven; hasty departure | The sinless body of Messiah resting unbroken in the tomb |
| Firstfruits | Yom HaBikkurim | Day after the Sabbath | First sheaf of barley waved before the LORD | The Resurrection of Yeshua, the "firstfruits of them that slept" (1 Cor. 15:20) |
| Weeks / Pentecost | Shavuot | 50 days count from Firstfruits | Giving of the Torah at Mount Sinai | Outpouring of the Holy Spirit (Ruach HaKodesh) writing Torah on hearts (Acts 2; Jer. 31:33) |
| Trumpets | Yom Teruah | 1st day of the 7th Month (Tishrei) | Day of blowing shofars, awakening blast | The resurrection of the righteous and gathering of the elect (1 Cor. 15:52; 1 Thess. 4:16) |
| Day of Atonement | Yom Kippur | 10th day of the 7th Month | High Priest enters Holy of Holies for national cleansing | National repentance, the Day of Judgment, and the Second Coming (Zech. 12:10; Rev. 19) |
| Tabernacles | Sukkot | 15th–22nd of the 7th Month | Dwelling in temporary booths; joy of the fruit harvest | The Millennial Kingdom; God tabernacling among men (Micah 4; Rev. 21:3) |
Messianic Perspectives: Michael Rood, Batya Wooten, & Monte Judah:
Michael Rood: The Creator's Calendar and the Prophetic Clock
In works such as The Mystery of the Iniquity & The Creator's Calendar and Prophecies in the Spring & Fall Feasts of the LORD, Michael Rood emphasizes the precision of the biblical timekeeping system:
- Astronomic-Agricultural Interlock: Rood argues that modern calculated calendars (such as the mathematical Hillel II calendar established around 359 CE) deviate from the original biblical observation method. According to Rood, the biblical year begins exclusively with the sighting of the first sliver of the new moon (Rosh Chodesh) over the Land of Israel, locked into place by the agricultural stage of the barley crop (Abib/Aviv—brittle, harvest-ready grain required for the Firstfruits wave sheaf offering; Ex. 12:2; 9:31–32).
- Prophetic Clockwork: Rood contends that the Messiah did not fulfill the Spring Feasts approximately or metaphorically, but down to the exact day, hour, and minute on the celestial calendar. Consequently, Rood asserts that the Fall Feasts—beginning with Yom Teruah (the only feast falling on a New Moon, where "no man knows the day or the hour" until witnesses sight the crescent)—will be fulfilled with identical chronological accuracy at Messiah's return.
The Sighting of the New Moon over Israel shall one be a day of universal rejoicing and true Shalom when Messiah Yeshua ben David of Nazareth returns!
Batya Wooten: Israel's Feasts and Their Fullness
In Israel's Feasts and Their Fullness, Batya Wooten focuses on the relational, identity-driven, and national dimension of the Mo'edim:
- A Family Inheritance, Not a Foreign Code: Wooten asserts that the Feasts of the LORD are not obsolete ethnic rituals intended exclusively for the Jewish branch of the family, but the comprehensive covenant heritage for all who belong to the Commonwealth of Israel.
- The Fullness of the Olive Tree: Through the lens of the Feasts, Wooten unpacks the restoration of both houses of Israel. The feasts serve as prophetic milestones that heal historical breaches, weaning believers from syncretic Greco-Roman celebrations back to the covenant cycle established by the Creator. To celebrate the Feasts is to partake in the covenant bridal chamber, preparing the bride for the Bridegroom's return.
In Monte Judah’s teaching on Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement) from the Fall Feasts series, he underscores the profound prophetic transition from the mercy-driven season of repentance to the finality of divine judgment. Central to his message is the foundational Torah mandate found in Leviticus 23:26–32, where God establishes Yom Kippur as a "Sabbath of solemn rest" requiring believers to "afflict their souls" by fasting and ceasing all work in earnest prayerful repentance that our names will be found written in the Lambs Book of Life.
Judah pairs this with Leviticus 17:11—which reveals that atonement is granted through the blood upon the altar—and traces its ultimate fulfillment to Hebrews 9:11–12 and Hebrews 10:1–18, demonstrating how Yeshua entered the heavenly sanctuary as the eternal High Priest. Furthermore, he incorporates the prophetic warning of Joel 2:1–15, calling for a trumpet to be blown in Zion to consecrate a solemn assembly as the Day of the Lord approaches.
The deep solemness of Yom Kippur directly intersects with "The Day of the Lord" because both events represent the closing of the door of repentance and the execution of final judgment. While the Feast of Trumpets (Yom Teruah) serves as a wake-up call to turn back to God, Yom Kippur stands as the decisive deadline—a day when books are sealed and accountabilities are settled. The command to "afflict your soul" on Yom Kippur reflects the absolute humility, self-examination, and reverent fear required when standing before the Creator, echoing the apocalyptic solemnity described in Joel 2 and Zephaniah 1:14–15 regarding the Great and Terrible Day of the Lord.
Ultimately, this teaching serves as a final warning that the current age of grace will culminate in a real, historical reckoning where divine universal justice is exacted upon the earth. In the prophetic framework of the Fall Feasts, the Spring Feasts fulfilled Messiah’s first coming as the suffering Lamb, whereas Yom Kippur anticipates His return as the Sovereign Judge who cleanses the sanctuary and separates the righteous from the unrepentant.
Understanding Yom Kippur through the lens of the Day of the Lord emphasizes that your eternal spiritual preparation trumps any physical survival preparations to store up on "Beans, Bullets, and Band-Aids and simply can not be delayed; the solemnity of the Day of Atonement is a reminder to believers to align their hearts with Messiah Yeshua now before His glorious and awe-inspiring arrival.
Who Scripturally Are the Children of Israel?
(Hosea 1 & Deuteronomy 30)
Understanding the scope of biblical Israel requires tracing the division and prophetic destiny of the nation:
The Division of the Kingdom:
Following Solomon's reign (1 Kings 11–12), the united nation split into two distinct entities:
- The Southern Kingdom (House of Judah): Primarily Judah, Benjamin, and part of Levi. Known historically as the Jewish people.
- The Northern Kingdom (House of Israel / Ephraim): The ten northern tribes. They fell into systemic idolatry under Jeroboam and were conquered and deported by the Assyrian Empire in 722 BCE (2 Kings 17). They never returned en masse and assimilated among the nations (the Diaspora).
Hosea 1: The Children of Israel from: Lo-Ammi to Ammi:
The Prophet Hosea receives a living parable in his children:
- Jezreel: God will scatter and avenge.
- Lo-Ruhamah: "No mercy."
- Lo-Ammi: "For ye are not my people, and I will not be your God" (Hos. 1:9). This was the legal and spiritual condition of the scattered Northern Kingdom.
Yet Hosea 1:10–11 delivers an explicit promise of restoration:
"Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people, there it shall be said unto them, Ye are the sons of the living God. Then shall the children of Judah and the children of Israel be gathered together, and appoint themselves one head..."
The Apostle Paul cites this precise passage in Romans 9:24–26 and 1 Peter 2:9–10 to describe the ingrafting of believers from the nations through Messiah Yeshua into the commonwealth of Israel (Eph. 2:11–19; Rom. 11). Scripturally, "the Children of Israel" encompasses both the preserved House of Judah and the redeemable, scattered remnants of the House of Israel brought near through the blood of the Covenant.
Deuteronomy 30 (Devarim): The Law of Teshuvah
Moses prophesied in Deuteronomy 30:1–6 that after the curses of exile scattered Israel to the ends of heaven, a turning of the heart (Teshuvah) would occur:
"And it shall come to pass, when all these things are come upon thee... and thou shalt call them to mind among all the nations, whither the LORD thy God hath driven thee, and shalt return unto the LORD thy God, and shalt obey his voice... That then the LORD thy God will turn thy captivity, and have compassion upon thee, and will return and gather thee from all the nations..."
This return involves an inward circumcision of the heart to love the LORD with all soul and strength.
The Prophetic Timeline: The Final Ingathering of All 12 Tribes
While the establishment of the modern State of Israel in 1948 and subsequent waves of Jewish Aliyah (return) fulfill foundational prophecies concerning the House of Judah taking root again in the land (Zech. 12; Zeph. 2:7), scripture is uniform that the full, final ingathering of all twelve tribes is a cosmic, Messianic event.
Ezekiel 37: The Two Sticks
Ezekiel is commanded to take two sticks:
- One for Judah and the children of Israel his companions.
- Another for Joseph (the stick of Ephraim) and all the house of Israel his companions.
God declares: "I will make them one stick, and they shall be one in mine hand... And I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king to them all: and they shall be no more two nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all" (Ezek. 37:19–22). This unshakeable union takes place under Melech Yeshua, Messiah Yeshua ben David shall be our Prince forever.
Matthew 24 and Luke 21: The Cosmic Ingathering:
Yeshua links the final gathering directly to the conclusion of the Tribulation and celestial disturbances:
- Cosmic Signs: "Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken" (Matt. 24:29; Luke 21:25). Here the Genesis 1 luminaries perform their ultimate role as signs.
- The Shofar of the Ingathering: "And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet [the Great Shofar / Shofar Gadol], and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other" (Matt. 24:31).
- The Times of the Gentiles: Luke 21:24 notes that Jerusalem would be trodden down by the Gentiles "until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled."
The prophetic scriptures synchronize at the Final Ingathering of all Twelve Tribes of "The Commonwealth of Israel"
(Ephesians 2:12)at the literal culmination of the age: when Messiah Yeshua of Nazareth returns in glory, at the sound the Great Shofar of Yom Teruah, The Feast of Trumpets, and breaks the dominion of worldly empires, Yeshua shall gather the scattered sheep of both houses of Israel Judah, and Ephraim; the whole House of Israel from every continent, and inaugurates the Messianic Millennial Kingdom in Jerusalem, establishing true lasting Shalom in every heart and home, Hallelu Yah!!!
