and the Seventy Weeks Prophecy of Daniel

In the first year of Darius the Mede (c. 538 BC), "Da Man Who would be King", Daniel; Da Royal Prince of Yah Who Da who along with three other Princes of Yah Who Da, was studying Jeremiah’s prophecy of seventy years of desolation for Jerusalem (Jeremiah 25, 29). He responds with determined, humble intercession:

He sets his face toward the Lord “to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes” (Daniel 9:3). Sackcloth and ashes were classic signs of mourning, humility, and national repentance.

His prayer (9:4–19) is a corporate confession of Israel’s covenant-breaking, acknowledgment of God’s righteousness in judgment, and plea for mercy “for Your own sake” on the desolate city and sanctuary.

Gabriel then delivers the answer (9:20–27). “Seventy sevens” (Hebrew shiv‘im shavu‘im) are decreed for “your people and your holy city.” The "near-universal" scholarly understanding is seventy heptads of years (490 years), echoing sabbatical and jubilee patterns. The purposes listed in 9:24 include finishing transgression, ending sin, atoning for iniquity, bringing everlasting righteousness, sealing vision and prophecy, and anointing the most holy.

The timeline of the intermediate fulfillment of this prophecy runs from a decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem through seven sevens and sixty-two sevens until an Anointed One (Messiah Yeshua) appears; after that he is “cut off.” The people of a coming ruler destroy the city and sanctuary.

Verse 27 speaks of confirming a covenant with many for one seven, and in the middle of that period causing sacrifice and offering to cease, with “the overspreading of abominations” leading to desolation until the consummation.

Interpreters differ on the identity of the “he” who confirms the covenant (Messiah confirming the new covenant and ending the sacrificial system by his death, versus a future figure who makes then breaks a treaty) and on whether the final week is contiguous or has a gap. The language of abomination and desolation is the same complex later referenced by Jesus.

Olivet Discourse: Matthew 24:15–21 and the precise denotation of the abomination

On the Mount of Olives the disciples ask about the Temple’s destruction (which Jesus has just predicted), the sign of his coming parousia, and the end of the age (Matthew 24:1–3). Jesus answers with a series of signs that include false messiahs, wars, famines, earthquakes, persecution, and the gospel being preached to all nations (24:4–14). Then comes the pivotal warning:

“When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house: Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes. And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!

"But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.” Matthew 24:15–21

The precise denotation is that people will see the abomination (the desecrating thing or person Daniel prophesied) standing in the holy place—the Temple precincts in Jerusalem. “Spoken of by Daniel the prophet” points readers to Daniel 9:27, 11:31, and 12:11. It is not a prediction that Daniel himself will reappear and stand anywhere. The parenthetical “let the reader understand” signals that the audience is expected to know the Danielic background. The immediate practical instruction is urgent flight from Judea.

Historically, this has been linked to the events surrounding the First Jewish-Roman War and the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple in AD 70 (Roman standards and sacrifices in the Temple area, or earlier desecrations that precipitated the final desolation; early Christian sources report believers heeding a warning and fleeing).

It is also prefigured by Antiochus IV Epiphanes’ desecration of the Temple in the 160s BC. Futurist readings look for a future Antichrist figure in a rebuilt Temple. The text does not identify the holy place with Gaza or any other coastal city, nor does it equate the abomination with the visible ruins of a modern city observed on social media or satellite imagery.

Dat being said we should Noah enough about Da Bible 2 let doze who wrote Da Book 2 reveal Da Book in due Time:

"But I will shew thee which is noted in the scripture of truth: and der is none Day holdeth with me in deez things, but Michael your prince".   Daniel 10:21

Matthew 24:37–39 then compares the coming of the Son of Man to the days of Noah: people were eating, drinking, marrying, and giving in marriage, unaware until the flood came and took them away. The emphasis is on the suddenness of judgment amid ordinary life, not primarily on the violence of Genesis 6 (though that context is present). The warning is against complacency.

Dust Sayeth Grok after duh Great Reset:

On the images, prior responses, and Gaza:

An image of Yeshua/Jesus teaching his disciples on the Mount of Olives can accurately depict the literary scene of Matthew 24:3–51. Satellite and social-media images of Gaza’s extensive ruins (documented at roughly 80 percent of structures damaged or destroyed in assessments from 2025–2026, with neighborhoods reduced to rubble) accurately show the scale of physical destruction after the October 7, 2023 Hamas attack and the subsequent war.

Pairing them as a single visual that “accurately depicts” both the biblical scene and the fulfillment of the abomination standing in the holy place is an interpretive overlay, not a literal reading of the text. A VAR “Decision Goal” image as a metaphor for “final reviewed confirmation” is likewise a modern analogy, not an exegetical claim.

Gaza’s desolation is real, globally visible in real time via satellites, drones, and social media, and the human cost (casualties, displacement, infrastructure collapse) is immense and tragic on multiple sides of the conflict.

That does not transform the coastal ruins into the “holy place” of Daniel and Matthew 24.

Geopolitical and war-analyst reflection: prophecy, desolation, and modern conflict

From the standpoint of a geopolitical and war analyst who tracks how ancient prophetic language is applied to contemporary events, the Middle East remains a laboratory for such readings precisely because the physical and moral landscape keeps generating images of desolation and atrocity.

The destruction in Gaza is among the most thoroughly documented urban devastations of the twenty-first century. Satellite analyses (UNOSAT, academic conflict-ecology labs, and commercial providers) show large percentages of buildings damaged or destroyed, entire neighborhoods leveled, and tens of millions of tons of rubble.

These images circulate instantly on social media, so that people worldwide can, in a literal sense, “see” a once-inhabited coastal strip reduced to ruins. Parallel atrocities—the mass killing and hostage-taking of October 7, 2023, and the subsequent civilian toll and infrastructure collapse—have been labeled abominations by parties on all sides of the conflict. In that limited rhetorical sense, modern media has made visible what earlier generations could only hear described.

Jesus’ reference to the days of Noah in the same discourse underscores a different but related point:

Judgment or catastrophic change can arrive while ordinary life continues. People eat, drink, marry, and post online until the sudden event. The Noah parallel is not primarily a prediction about coastal ruins; it is a warning against the assumption that normal patterns will continue indefinitely.

The engineering feasibility of the ark described in Genesis 6–9 has been examined by naval and structural engineers for buoyancy and stability under the stated dimensions; that technical interest does not alter the theological analogy Jesus draws about unpreparedness.

The “seventy sevens” framework and the abomination language have been applied by successive generations to their own crises—Antiochus, the Romans, later empires, and modern wars. Each application reveals something about the human capacity for desecration and the resulting desolation, but none automatically constitutes the precise “standing in the holy place” of Matthew 24:15. The gospel’s global reach via digital media (Matthew 24:14) is a genuine modern development that many observers note, yet the text’s specific sign remains tied to the holy place Daniel described.

WHO DAT? WHO ES DA KINE KA MA EYE NA DAT NOAH DWELLS EN DA HAOLE PLACE???

Wars continue to produce both abominations (deliberate atrocities, desecrations of the sacred, systematic cruelty) and desolations (ruined cities, displaced populations, collapsed societies). Gaza’s visible ruins are one current example among others (Syria, Yemen, Ukraine, Sudan).

Analysts can observe the pattern, document the scale, and note how quickly images travel. Turning those observations into a claim that the prophet Daniel is literally standing in the Gaza ruins, or that social-media viewers are seeing the exact abomination of Matthew 24:15, exceeds what the texts themselves state.

In Daniel 12:1, the text describes a future period where Michael, identified as the great prince who stands guard over Daniel's people, arises. It states that this event accompanies a time of unparalleled trouble such as had never occurred since nations first existed, yet promises that during this time, everyone among Daniel's people whose name is found written in the book will be delivered.
